Dehradun: With Uttarakhand entering in the silver Jubilee year of its formation as a separate state, the next 12 months are going to be very special in view of the state government’s plans to implement its big decision.
All eyes would be on the implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The UCC is likely to be implemented by the end of this year or in the beginning of the coming 2025. The state may dedicate the Uttarakhand state women policy to the women on the state foundation day. The Uttarakhand government is also making its Yoga policy for the first time. The government is under plan to implement its Yoga policy ahead of the World Ayurveda Congress to be held in the December month.
While completing 24years as a separate state, Uttarakhand will enter in the silver jubilee year also
Uttarakhand completes its 24 years as a separate state on 9 November and it will enter in the silver jubilee year. The government has already announced the celebration of Rajat Utsava Year (silver jubilee year), beginning from November 10. The celebrations will continue till Uttarakhand completes the 25th year of its emergence as a separate state.
The implementation of UCC is on card
In the beginning of this year, the expert committee submitted its final draft of the UCC to the state government. Later, the state assembly passed the UCC bill. Uttarakhand government has already issued gazette notification for the UCC. The Rules making and implementation Committee, constituted under the chairmanship of former chief secretary Shatrughna Singh, has already submitted its draft to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It is expected that the UCC will come into existence by the end of this year or in the beginning of 2025. CM Dhami on Thursday said that his government will soon announce the dates for the implementation of the UCC in the hill state.
Draft of Uttarakhand state women policy is ready
The draft of the Uttarakhand state women policy 2024 is also ready. The objective of this policy is to protect the interest of women and give them a strong and equal position in society. The draft of state women policy 2024 has been prepared with the help of Uttarakhand women empowerment and child development department as well as the state women commission. The government may dedicate this policy to women very soon.
Proposed Yoga policy may see the light of day ahead of the World Ayurveda Congress
The proposed Yoga policy of the state government is also in focus in view of its association with Rishikesh which is referred to as Yog Nagari. The Yoga policy is important in view of the state government’s plan to develop the state as a hub of Ayush. The main objective of the proposed Yoga policy is not only to generate employment, but also promotes the Yoga centres of the state. In case of the implementation of the Yoga policy, it will be mandatory for all Yoga centres to get registered. There is a possibility that the Yoga policy may come into existence ahead of the World Ayurveda Congress beginning from December 12.
