New Delhi: Author Amish Tripathi has extended an invitation to Elon Musk to attend the Maha Kumbh, a major Hindu religious gathering in Prayagraj. The invitation came during an exclusive event hosted by Musk at SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Texas, organised by the Indian Global Forum (IGF).
Tripathi took to microblogging site X to announce his invitation to Elon Musk to attend Maha Kumbh. In an X post, Tripathi wrote, “An invigorating hour spent with none other than @elonmusk, in an exclusive event organised by @manojladwa. We discussed a range of topics from spirituality, consciousness, interplanetary travel, monetary policy, engineering amongst others. And an invitation to the Maha Kumbh Mela! Hope he can make it!!”

The event focused on strengthening India-US business ties under the incoming Trump administration, and brought together prominent Indian entrepreneurs like Ritesh Agarwal (OYO) and Kalyan Krishnamurthy (Flipkart), along with Tripathi, a former diplomat and author known for his mythological fiction.
Discussions ranged from spirituality and consciousness to interplanetary travel, monetary policy, and engineering. Tripathi shared a photo on X with Musk and other attendees, mentioning the invitation and expressing hope that Musk would attend. The prospect of Musk at the Maha Kumbh has generated excitement online.
During the event, Musk praised India as a “great and complex ancient civilization” and acknowledged its growing contribution to global innovation. He also expressed optimism about the future of India-US relations and advocated for stronger trade partnerships. The Indian business leaders toured SpaceX facilities and witnessed the Starship Flight 7 launch.
This initiative comes at a crucial time, just before President Trump’s second inauguration. Musk, who played a key role in Trump’s victory, is expected to take on a more prominent role in the new administration as co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
