Caught on cam: Drone footage spots terrorist on porch during Sopore encounter

Srinagar: A drone footage has emerged from the ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in Panipora, Sopore, Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. The footage captures a terrorist taking position on the porch of a house, looking around seemingly in search of an escape route from the encounter site.

The encounter, which began on Thursday night, involves a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army. The latest reports indicate that two terrorists have been neutralised in the operation, with the military operation still ongoing.

“Two terrorists have been neutralized in Sopore encounter. Identification & affiliation is being ascertained. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition recovered,” said Jammu and Kashmir Police in a statement.

The operation was launched following specific intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. An exchange of fire took place during the search operation, with the Indian Army also confirming the encounter on their official X page.
