Suzuki Has Recalled The Hayabusa In India

Suzuki has recalled around 1,056 units of their Hayabusa motorcycle over a possible front brake issue. The Hayabusa is one of the most popular litre-class motorcycles in India. Suzuki says that the bikes affected have been manufactured between March 2021 and September 2024.

The issue lies with the front brake lever which can gain some play. “The front brake lever play increases, in the worst case, the lever contacts with the throttle grip and the braking distance increases.” With the timeline stated, it looks like that all the third generation Hayabusa’s have been recalled over this issue.

Currently no accidents or injuries have been reported in India regarding this issue which is a good thing because the braking system is one of the most vital parts of such a motorcycle.  The Hayabusa is one of the fastest motorcycles currently for sale and features a 1,340cc four cylinder engine which produces 190 bhp and 142 Nm of torque. It will do 0-100 kmph in under 3 seconds and top out at 300 kmph. The new third-generation Hayabusa features the Brembo Stylema calipers which are the gold standard in the industry but if the brake lever gets stuck with the handlebar then it is a matter of great concern.

Suzuki might individually contact all the customers for the recall but any official statement has not been made yet as to how they will carry out this recall. We would suggest Hayabusa owners to connect with their dealer on this issue and get the parts replaced before taking on longer rides.
