Noida: The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) hospital, located near Model School in Sector 11 in Noida, has come under scrutiny after denying treatment to patients due to an electricity outage that began at 8 AM today on October 26 (Saturday).
Patients reported suffering for over two hours as they awaited care in the emergency department, with many expressing frustration over the lack of essential services. Visuals from the scene revealed two generators on-site that were left non-functional, compounding the issue as the hospital staff struggled to manage the situation.

No budget for generators: Hospital staff
Staffers at the hospital allegedly cited budget constraints as the reason for the generators being out of operation, specifically mentioning a lack of funds for diesel to power the generators. Additionally, the absence of an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) or other power backup systems further exacerbated the difficulties faced by patients.

Kept waiting for hours despite urgent need of medical attention: Patient
While talking to News9live over a phone call a patient on the condition of anonymity claimed that patients continued to suffer for hours due to an alleged power outage in the locality. Meanwhile, as the hospital remained non-functional long queues of patients added on to the problems faced by citizens seeking medical treatment at the state-run government facility.
“We have been kept waiting since 8 AM in the morning and the condition is worsening with each passing minute. Not everyone has an emergency but there are people in the need of urgent medical help who are also kept stranded due to the lack of power backup in the facility. Meanwhile when we tried to confront the staffers at the hospital, they claimed lack of budget to fuel two generators which are kept un-functional in the same premises,” claimed the patient while talking to News9live.
