New Delhi: Bollywood star Aamir Khan is reportedly considering taking on a biopic about the legendary playback singer and actor Kishore Kumar. According to Pinkvilla, the project will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Basu and produced by Bhushan Kumar. Sources claim the 3 Idiots actor has already had four to five meetings with the director to discuss the film.

Aamir Khan and Anurag Basu to team up

The biopic, which holds a special place for both Anurag and Bhushan Kumar, is being developed with great care to portray the life of Kishore Kumar in the most captivating way possible. A source close to the project revealed, “Aamir Khan is a big admirer of Kishore Kumar and was highly impressed by Anurag Basu’s unique approach to the story. This fresh perspective is what has attracted Aamir the most.”

Although the Ghajini actor hasn’t officially signed on yet, his interest in the project is undeniable. Fans of both Aamir and Kishore Kumar are eagerly waiting to see if the actor will step into the shoes of one of India’s most beloved singers.

Aamir Khan considering multiple projects

In addition to the Kishore Kumar biopic, Aamir is reportedly evaluating six different film scripts, all of which are at various stages of development. The projects under consideration include the Kishore Kumar biopic, the Ujjwal Nikam biopic, and a comedy by Rajkumar Santoshi. Other films like Ghajini 2, a collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Zoya Akhtar’s next venture are also in the mix.

The source added, “Aamir will decide on his next project by the end of this year. Of the six films, he plans to do at least three but might drop the others depending on how things develop.”

Kishore Kumar, an iconic playback singer, actor, and musician, left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. His soulful voice and versatility in singing across various languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, and more, made him a true legend. His evergreen hits like Ye Raatein Ye Mausam, Gaata Rahe Mera Dil, and Hum Toh Mohabbat Karega continue to resonate with music lovers even today.

While Aamir contemplates his next major project, he is also gearing up for the release of Sitaare Zameen Par, where he stars alongside Genelia D’Souza. He will also produce the film under his banner, Aamir Khan Productions. Additionally, Aamir is involved in producing Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, which stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and Shabana Azmi.
