The weather is expected to remain dry on January 3 and 4, but snowfall is anticipated in the higher regions of the state from January 5 to January 7. This change is likely to cause a drop in temperature, particularly in mountainous districts at altitudes above 2500 meters.

The weather department has forecasted dry conditions till 4 January across the state. Clear skies and occasional fog are expected in the capital, Dehradun, with maximum temperatures around 23°C. With warning of heavy fog in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, the Terai region continues to face challenges due to fog and a cold wave, causing many residents to stay indoors and rely on bonfires for warmth.
