Kia Tasman Teased Without Camo: Debuts On October 29

Kia has been teasing their all new pick-up-truck from some time now. We have been on top of it and after a few teasers showcasing its off-road capability, the camouflage has finally come off and we have gotten an official date for the debut. Kia will unveil the Kia Tasman in all its glory at the Jeddah International Motor Show on October 29, 2024.

We have already seen the vehicle being put through its paces across the world but it has always been under a camouflage. The design of the Tasman is quite different. It is pretty boxy which is a good thing but also quite funky. It does not have the same old design inspired form other modern trucks.

From the teaser, we can see the headlights which are placed right on the edges and are vertically stacked. The boxed out flares are quite a prominent feature and the wheels also feature a cool design. We can spot the view mirror as well which is also quite huge and square shaped and we can see the large “Kia” logo stamped on the trunk of the vehicle.

While we have seen the Tasman being tested rigorously off-road, we are assuming that the vehicle will be a monocoque chassis instead of a ladder on frame one just like the Honda Ridgline. It will most likely have an AWD system rather than a proper 4×4 with low range. We do know that it will feature the same old and trusted 2.2L diesel engine we have seen in other Hyundai cars. it produces 199 bhp and 440 Nm of torque and powers the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Carnival.

The Tasman will not be launched in the North American markets and instead will compete with the likes of the Toyota Hilux and the Ford Ranger in Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, Middle-East, South Africa and Korea.
