New Delhi: Following her recent appointment, Delhi chief minister Atishi moved into the official CM’s house, 6 Flag Staff Road in Civil Lines, on Monday. After moving in, she met with staff there in an engagement session.

Atishi was sworn in as Delhi’s chief minister on September 21 after former CM Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post, two days after he was granted bail by Supreme Court in now-scrapped Delhi excise policy case. Atishi is third woman chief minister of Delhi.

Atishi also met Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday. Her post on social media platform X read: “Called on Hon’ble Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankar ji at Vice-President’s Enclave today. I look forward to his support for Delhi’s welfare and progress.”

Kejriwal vacated the official residence on October 4, relocating to a bungalow at 5 Firoz Shah Road, which was allocated to AAP Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab.

AAP RS MP Ashok Mittal expressed his happiness over Arvind Kejriwal’s decision to stay at his official residence. “When Kejriwal recently resigned as Chief Minister, I learned that he didn’t have a place to stay. I invited him to live in my home in Delhi as my guest. I’m thrilled that he has chosen to stay with me until he finds a new house. This is a wonderful opportunity for me as an AAP worker and MP to learn from him. I hope that in the upcoming Delhi elections, the public will continue to support him, and he will return as Chief Minister with a strong majority,” said Ashok Mittal.
