‘Vedas treasure trove of knowledge’: Mohan Bhagwat releases Damodar Satwalekar’s book

New Delhi: “It is believed that time has come for the rise of Sanatan Dharma. We also know that the attitude of the world is changing regarding this. In such a time, this commentary of the Vedas is an indication that Vedas are our means to move ahead,” Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat said this as he released the third edition of ‘Subodh Bhashya of the Char Vedas’ written in Hindi by Padma awardee Shripad Damodar Satwalekar. The event was held on Wednesday, September 18 at Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. He pointed out it was not his “adhikar” to speak about the Vedas, but “I have come to offer my encouragement”.

“Vedas and India…these are not two things, Vedas contain both material and spiritual knowledge,” he said, adding that the Vedas are the treasure trove of knowledge. Vedas were not written or thought but were seen, Bhagwat underlined.

“Our ancestors said that the whole world is one, everyone is connected… separation and fighting are all momentary, false,” he pointed out. “CT scan machine is not mentioned in the Vedas but its origin is in the Vedas, it has its basis. On the basis of which further thinking took place. The Vedas tell how much time it takes for the sun rays to reach the earth. Science is in the Vedas,” Bhagwat added.

He said that man, group, and creation have to live with the universal form of God; religion connects, it is the basis of life. The value of Vedas lies in truth. Vedas came with the creation, he added. “It would be better if only those who live the life of Vedas explain its meaning. We should not go into debate on the Vedas because it is of no use. Those who believe should read and follow them.”
