Agra: A serious altercation broke out between locomotive pilots from different railway divisions over who should operate the new Vande Bharat Express train running between Agra and Udaipur.
The dispute involved staff from West-Central Railway, North-West Railway and Northern Railway, all of whom had been given orders to operate the train. This led to daily clashes among the staff from these regions.
How fight erupted
The conflict began during the inauguration of the train earlier this week, according to a report by ETV Bharat. Tensions rose when staff from the Agra and Kota Railway Divisions argued over who would be responsible for running the semi-high-speed train.
The argument became physical, leading to significant damage to the guard room, including a broken lock and shattered glass windowpane. Furthermore, a loco pilot and his assistant were assaulted during the confrontation.

The Udaipur-Agra Vande Bharat Express, which began its operations on September 2, travelled through three different railway divisions, each belonging to a different railway zone.
The train started its journey at Udaipur station, which fell under the Ajmer Railway Division and travelled through the Kota Railway Division before ending its route at the Agra Railway Division.
