According to Army sources, around 30 to 40 Pakistani soldiers were seen close to the LoC in Naushahranad area of Badipora district. These soldiers appeared to be preparing to construct a bunker, as they were carrying a significant amount of equipment.

Indian Army fires warning shots

The Indian Army, recognizing the seriousness of the situation, initially issued a warning. They raised a red flag to signal the Pakistani troops to stop their construction work.

Despite this warning, Pakistani soldiers continued their activities. In response, Indian Army fired two rounds of shots, after which the construction work ceased, and Pakistani soldiers withdrew from the area.

This incident came amid rising concerns about attempts by terrorists to reactivate old, traditional routes to infiltrate Indian territory. Just a few days ago, security forces eliminated three terrorists in two separate operations in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Indian Army said that on August 28, they had received credible intelligence inputs indicating potential infiltration attempts along the LoC. These inputs were also verified by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Tight security for Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections

Acting on this information, Indian Army soldiers, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, set up ambushes at possible infiltration routes in the Machhal and Tangdhar sectors. As a result of these operations, three terrorists were killed in these sectors.

This comes at a time when Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up for assembly elections. Security measures have been tightened across the Union Territory to ensure peace.
