Xiaomi India has announced a significant leadership transition as Muralikrishnan B, the current President of Xiaomi India, will be stepping down from his role by the end of the year. After over six years with Xiaomi, Murali is pursuing his passion for academic research, focusing on an Executive Doctorate in Management. His new focus will be on ‘Consumer Behaviour on Technology Platforms.’

Murali joined Xiaomi India in 2018 and quickly climbed the ranks, serving as Chief Operating Officer before being promoted to President in 2022. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in strengthening Xiaomi’s brand presence in India, guiding strategic initiatives, and managing key public affairs. Under his leadership, Xiaomi became a household name, connecting millions of Indians with innovative technology products.

Adam Zeng, Senior Vice President of the Group and President of the International Business Department, praised Murali’s contributions. “Under Murali’s leadership, Xiaomi has seen exceptional success in India. We deeply appreciate his contribution, and our commitment to India’s growth journey remains stronger than ever,” Zeng said.

“My experience at Xiaomi India has been one of the most fulfilling chapters of my career. The values of sincerity and passion that Xiaomi embodies have been central to our journey. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together in such a dynamic market,” shared Murali, reflecting on his time at Xiaomi.

While Murali moves on to his academic pursuits, he will remain with Xiaomi as an independent Strategic Advisor, ensuring a smooth transition and continued support for the company’s initiatives.
