  • Financial assistance: The Tata Group provided a massive sum of Rs 1,500 crore to help the country during the pandemic. This financial aid played a crucial role in assisting thousands of people across India in those tough times.
  • Medical facilities: During the pandemic, there was a dire need for medical equipment. The Tata Group stepped in and ensured that India received essential medical supplies. They sourced over a thousand ventilators, 4 lakh PPE kits, 3.5 million masks, and 3.5 lakh testing kits from China and other countries. These supplies helped in providing much-needed relief to healthcare workers and hospitals across the country.
  • Food and shelter: In addition to financial and medical assistance, the Tata Group also provided free food and shelter to the poor and vulnerable, ensuring that the most affected sections of society received timely help.

Along with these contributions, the Tata Group also extended special assistance to its employees during the pandemic, ensuring that no one felt abandoned in their time of need.

How Ratan Tata dedicated his life to service

During the pandemic, India faced severe shortages of ventilators, PPE kits, masks, gloves, and oxygen. The Tata Group responded swiftly by ordering and delivering these essential supplies. Their efforts to bring in life-saving medical equipment helped ease the strain on healthcare systems across the country.

Even before the pandemic, Ratan Tata had always stepped up in times of crisis. Whether it was during natural disasters or national emergencies like the 26/11 attacks, he remained committed to serving the country. His generous actions and heartfelt initiatives earned him a place of reverence in the hearts of millions.

Ratan Tata’s demise

Ratan Tata’s health had been deteriorating for some time, and on Monday, he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to low blood pressure. While he assured everyone that he was doing well, sharing updates on social media and asking people not to worry, the nation was struck with grief when news of his death emerged late on Wednesday night. His last rites will be held from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm on Thursday in Mumbai.
