New Delhi: A tourist’s video featuring the dilapidated state of an Indian toilet is making rounds on social media. The clip garnered several comments on social media and netizens got into a searing debate. While some criticised the tourist and asked her to upgrade her train, others felt she made a serious point with the clip.
Irina Moreno, a content creator, shared a video of a Western toilet on an Indian train on Instagram. The video featured rusted surfaces and an unclean toilet in a 2nd class coach on the Udaipur City – Jaipur Intercity Express. She captioned, “Western toilet on train in India, 2nd class. Train 12991.” The video grabbed eyeballs. It garnered more than 5 million views and over 52k likes.

Netizens began arguing about the clip in the comments. Some desis rebuked the tourist for buying a cheap ticket and expecting a good toilet, others thought she was just being reasonable. They stated that feedback should be taken seriously and asserted that everyone deserves proper facilities regardless of ticket prices.
One netizen stated, “I would request you when you next time visit my beautiful country, please bring some money to spend there. Otherwise, this is how will try to earn by defaming others.” Another commented, “People who are commenting what to expect from a 2nd class .. so you expect this as a 2nd class washroom and wouldn’t expect proper maintenance or a cleaner one!!….everyone does deserve the basics.
