New Delhi: The Hindu Sikh Global Forum, representing a united front of Hindu and Sikh communities, staged a protest outside the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi on Sunday. The group condemned the recent wave of attacks on Hindu temples in Canada and denounced Khalistani extremism.
The demonstration, which saw participants raising slogans against the “growing violence targeting Hindus in Canada”, was met with heightened security measures by the Delhi Police. The police stopped the protesters at Teen Murti Marg.

The protest was sparked by a disturbing incident on November 3, where Hindu devotees, including women and children, were allegedly attacked and assaulted with sticks outside the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Canada, by Khalistanis. The incident drew widespread condemnation from world leaders.
Tarvinder Singh Marwah, President of the Hindu Sikh Global Forum, pointed to a pattern of attacks targeting Hindu and Sikh communities in Canada. “An entire generation had been destroyed during militancy. They were either killed or they migrated to other countries. Then they introduced drugs to ruin the life of our young generation,” Marwah told news agency ANI accusing Khalistani elements of aiming to disrupt the community’s unity and sow discord.
Marwah asserted the unwavering unity of the Hindu and Sikh communities, stating, “We are here to tell you that we are all together. A true Sikh can never be a Khalistani. If they want a separate nation, they should keep it limited to themselves. We want our tricolour and our country to be respected at all times. India’s Sikhs stand with India and do not support Khalistan.”
The protest comes amid rising diplomatic tensions between India and Canada following allegations from the Justin Trudeau administration regarding India’s involvement in the killing of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, an India-designated Khalistani terrorist. India has vehemently denied these allegations, calling them “absurd” and “motivated.”
