WATCH | Fadnavis, Shinde, Pawar mention their mothers as they take oaths

Mumbai: During the oath-taking ceremony of the newly formed Mahayuti-led government in Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar each mentioned the names of their mothers, adding a personal touch to the event. 

NCP leader Ajit Pawar acknowledged his mother, Ajit Ashatai Anant Rao Pawar, while Devendra Fadnavis referred to his mother as Savita Gangarao Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde named his mother as Gangubai Sambaji Shinde. 

Maharashtra’s new government

The ceremony, held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, marked a historic moment as Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the third time. Alongside him, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar took oaths as Deputy Chief Ministers.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union cabinet ministers, chief ministers of NDA-ruled states and prominent personalities from various fields, such as business and the arts.

Devendra Fadnavis seeks blessings of mother

Before heading to the ceremony, Devendra Fadnavis sought the blessings of his mother in a heartfelt moment. Dressed in traditional attire, Fadnavis was seen touching his mother’s feet in reverence, marking the emotional start to his day. He later shared the moment on X, captioning the photo, “The beginning of a new era with the blessings of mother.”

Amid the ceremony, Fadnavis’s wife, Amruta Fadnavis, also spoke about the “Ladki Behen” project, an initiative that has connected women with Devendra ji and the Mahayuti alliance. She highlighted the project’s significance in empowering women and their role in the new government.
