Raipur: A video has gone viral on social media showing the wife of a police officer in Chhattisgarh using a government vehicle to celebrate her birthday. The video has raised questions about the use of official resources for personal events.
According to reports, the woman in the video is Farheen Khan, wife of Taslim Arif, who is the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in Janjgir-Champa district. The video appears to have been shot at Sargana Resort.
In the video, Farheen Khan is seen sitting on the bonnet of a police vehicle that has a blue beacon, which is generally used by officers on duty. Several women are also seen standing partly outside the vehicle while a birthday reel is being made. The doors and trunk of the vehicle are open during the shoot.
In another clip, Farheen is seen spraying artificial snow on the vehicle’s windscreen and writing the number “32” on it. A man inside the car then turns on the wipers to clear it, after which she writes “33” on the glass, possibly indicating her new age. A cake and a bouquet are also placed on the bonnet.
Government rules clearly state that official vehicles, especially those with blue beacons, must only be used for government-related duties. Personal use of such vehicles is against the rules and may lead to disciplinary action.
So far, no official statement or action has been reported from the police department or the administration regarding the incident.
