Video: Off duty Mumbai police officer saves man from train accident in Goregaon

Mumbai: In an incident reported from Mumbai’s Goregaon, an off duty Mumbai Police personnel saved a man from coming under a running train. The video of the incident was captured on the CCTV at the railway station and has now gone viral on social media platforms. The accident happened when the man was trying to board the moving train.

The Mumbai Police shared the video on its official Instagram handle and praised the constable for his bravery and presence of mind. Since being shared the video has garnered considerable attention from netizens. So far it has over 33,000 likes and has also been shared multiple times.

The video on Instagram shows that a man is running towards a moving train and trying to get in. As he tries to board, he loses his balance and falls on the platform. A part of his body is stuck in the gap between the platform and the train.

The Mumbai cop, PC Balaso Dhage who was on the platform at the time sees the man in distress and immediately rushes in to help. He is able to successfully pull the man away from the moving train. Some other passengers waiting for the local also rush in to help.

Mumbai police praises personnel

Sharing the video of the incident, the Mumbai Police were all praise for its personnel. They said, “PC Balaso Dhage, while commuting back home, saw a man stuck between a moving train and the platform at Goregaon Railway Station. Responding quickly to the situation, PC Dhage averted a tragedy & saved his life.”

The post shared on August 30 has more than 7 lakh views. Netizens praised the cop who saved the man and used presence of mind to tackle the situation. One comment on the post read, “Salute for a wonderful good work. Salute to your great work for saving the life of a youth by risking your life. I hope the Maharashtra government respects this work properly.”

Another wrote, “Great efforts! Respect to police officers.”
