VIDEO | Monkey shatters sunroof in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi, leaves internet amused

New Delhi: A bizzare incident involving a monkey and a parked car in Varanasi’s Visheshwarganj area has become the talk of the internet. On Tuesday afternoon, a monkey leapt from a rooftop onto a parked car, shattering its sunroof. The impact sent the primate directly onto the car’s backseat, but in an almost choreographed move, it quickly jumped back out through the damaged sunroof and onto the road, seemingly unbothered by the chaos it left behind.

The incident was captured on video and has since gone viral. The 10-second clip has amused netizens, with reactions ranging from concern for the monkey’s safety to jokes about how the car owner might explain the bizarre accident to their insurance company.

Netizens share humorous takes on the incident

According to an India Today report, the car belongs to local businessman Mukesh Jaiswal, who expressed disbelief at the event. “We often hear about the monkey menace in the city, but I never expected something like this to happen,” he said.

Online, users shared humorous takes. One wondered if the monkey was watching its newfound fame online, while others joked about the challenges of filing an insurance claim for such an unusual scenario.

This incident highlights the ongoing struggle Varanasi residents face due to the growing monkey population, which has frequently caused damage to property. City authorities have yet to implement effective measures to manage the monkey menace, leaving residents to cope with unexpected events like these.
