Introduction of the Single Window Clearance System

The Union Minister also emphasized that the introduction of the Single Window Clearance System is a crucial step in furthering the transparency established through the auction regime initiated in 2015. Reddy assured the House that the government is committed to improving the system and providing robust support to allottees to ensure smooth operations.

The minister also mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has implemented numerous initiatives and reforms aimed at strengthening India’s domestic coal sector. He pointed out that before 2014, coal blocks were allocated arbitrarily, leading to the infamous Coalgate scandal. However, since the introduction of the auction regime, no coal block has been allotted without a transparent auction process, ensuring strict adherence to transparency and accountability.
