Dehradun: In a significant meeting, the priests of Uttarakhand’s four revered Dhams—Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath—met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday.

The priests extended a special invitation to the Prime Minister for the inauguration of the Dhams and expressed their gratitude for the government’s efforts in enhancing the shrines’ infrastructure and facilities.

The priests expressed their appreciation, stating, “Due to the vision of the Prime Minister, our holy places are improving in accordance with the Sanatan beliefs. This is the golden age of re-establishment of mythological traditions. May our deities give you strength, and may India sit on the throne of developed India under your leadership.”

Meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah

The priests also met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, inviting him to the opening of the Dhams’ doors in the upcoming season. They praised the central government’s efforts to organize the holy places with dignity, build corridors, and provide facilities for the general public, giving the pilgrimage sites a divine and grand appearance.

The priests stated, “The construction of all-weather roads, beautification plans for the holy places, and efforts being made by the government for pilgrims’ facilities have increased the grandeur of the holy places. In view of the increasing number of passengers, upgrading the infrastructure will provide great convenience to the devotees.” In response, Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the importance of these holy places, saying, “These are our centers of faith, which inspire us to follow the right path. We are continuously working to preserve, develop, and organize them in accordance with traditions.”

Infrastructure upgrades and future plans

The priests’ meetings with the Prime Minister and Home Minister underscore the importance of preserving and enhancing India’s sacred sites. As the Char Dham shrines prepare to welcome pilgrims in the upcoming season, the collaborative efforts of the priests and the government will ensure that these holy places continue to inspire and serve as centers of faith for generations to come.
