Uttarakhand: Youth detained in Udham Singh Nagar for riding ‘Khalistan’ written bike

Udham Singh Nagar: Following the arrest of a terrorist from Uttarakhand associated with the Khalistan Tiger Force in Delhi, the police have now detained a bike rider in Udham Singh Nagar district. The rider was found with “Khalistan” written on his bike.

According to the police, this man was also involved in a controversy as he was trying to inspire the youth to support Khalistan by uploading the video on social media. After his video went viral on social media, the police started searching for the youth. Later, on the basis of special information, the police arrested a bike rider near Green Park on Gadarpur Road, on whose bike the word Khalistan was written. ‘Pakke Khalistani’ was written on the number plate of his bike, a police official said.

Intelligence Bureau (IB) also questioned the suspected Khalistani supporter

Upon receiving information about the case, SSP Manikant Mishra, SP City Manoj Katyal, CO Niharika Tomar, and other officials arrived at the police station to interrogate the youth. During the interrogation, the youth identified himself as Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy, a resident of Chachet Baheri in Bareilly district. Following this, officials from the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) also questioned the suspected Khalistani supporter. He was subsequently released after being issued a challan under the Police Act. However, his phone was confiscated for investigation, and his bike was seized.

Acting on a tip-off from a special informer, the police learned that a young man had “Khalistan” written on his bike. The police detained the rider near Green Park on Gadarpur Road. After questioning him, they issued a challan under the Police Act, confiscated his phone for investigation, and seized the bike. The youth, identified as Harpreet, runs a Thandai shop near Green Park.
