Due to the showers, temperatures have dropped, making the mornings and evenings pleasant. However, heavy rainfall in some locations has disrupted daily life, affecting transportation, power supply, and local services.

Evening rain in Dehradun & impact on Char Dham routes

On Wednesday evening, Dehradun witnessed heavy rainfall, leading to water accumulation and traffic slowdowns. In Pauri, excessive rain caused river water levels to rise, prompting officials to monitor potential flood risks. Several regions, including Bageshwar, Nainital, and Uttarkashi, faced power and communication disruptions due to the thunderstorms. Pilgrims on Char Dham Yatra routes also encountered light to moderate showers, with officials advising caution while traveling. Surface winds reaching 30-40 km/h could impact Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, making conditions challenging for commuters. Meanwhile, in Pauri, excessive rain caused the water level in local rivers to rise significantly, posing a potential risk of flash floods.

In Bageshwar, Nainital, and Uttarkashi, thunderstorms and continuous showers caused power outages and impacted communication services.

Advisories for pilgrims to remain cautious

The Char Dham Yatra routes also faced intermittent rainfall, prompting officials to issue advisories for pilgrims to remain cautious. Pilgrims on the Char Dham Yatra are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions. Additionally, strong winds may cause damage to infrastructure, with the IMD cautioning against travel in open areas during peak storm hours.

Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious in flood-prone areas to avoid outdoor travel during peak storms. Follow weather updates for ongoing changes. With rainfall and strong winds expected to continue, officials remain on high alert for further developments.

Temperature trends & weather outlook

Dehradun recorded a maximum temperature of 34.4°C and a minimum of 25°C on Wednesday. On Thursday, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by 0.6°C, while the minimum may drop by 2°C. Partial cloud cover in plains may lead to increased humidity, affecting comfort levels despite lower temperatures.
