Due to the dry weather, temperatures are rising, leading to humid heat. After this period, the weather is expected to remain normal until September 30, with occasional rain in some hilly districts.

Monsoon’s departure on 30 September

Meteorological Department Director Bikram Singh announced that the monsoon is expected to start withdrawing from West Rajasthan today. Typically, it takes about a week for the monsoon to retreat from the Himalayan states after leaving Rajasthan. Although rainfall activity has decreased in the state since September 14 and 15, the official departure of the monsoon in Uttarakhand is anticipated after September 30.

Many major routes in Uttarakhand were previously closed due to landslides

In other news, the Joshimath-Malari highway in Chamoli district has been closed due to a large boulder falling from a hill near Lata, affecting around 17 villages. Many major routes in Uttarakhand were previously closed due to landslides and falling boulders, but dozens have been reopened, and efforts are ongoing to clear the remaining blocked routes. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is working to repair the highway.
