With nearly half of the municipal corporation area’s population being women, both parties have strategically nominated women for 44 and 45 percent of the ward councilor seats, respectively. The BJP and Congress have recognized the importance of women leaders and have not hesitated to nominate them, even in general wards where women leaders dominate.
