Dehradun: Uttarakhand government has undertaken an exercise to give basic training to the government employees about the use of the web portal meant for the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in the state.

With the help of the basic training programme, government employees are made aware about the new law, and the use of the web portal. Initially, four blocks of two hill districts- Chamoli in Garhwal region and Nainital in Kumon region- have been selected for the basic training programme.

Offline and Online training

The government employees are given offline and online training about the new law UCC and web portal. The basic idea is to train them how to complete the work within stipulated time. For example, technical aspects relating to filling online forms and other applications are explained to them during the basic training programme. Home department is monitoring the training programme.

Basic training programme may be completed before January 20

The state government is under a plan to complete the basic training programme in every district by the end of January 20. In view of the Urban Local Bodies’ (ULB) elections in the state, the Model Mode of Conduct (MCC) is in force. While the ULB elections will be held on January 23, the counting of votes will take place on January 25. The MCC will not be in force on January 26.

Basic training for employees posted at district & block level

Earlier, internal training was given at the level of Information Technology Development Agency and Community Service Centres (CSC). With the help of CSC, the basic training programme is organized at district as block level. The government employees, who are posted at district and block level, will play a major role in the implementation of the UCC at the ground-level.

Helpline and Helpdesk for the help of employees

The government will make available helpdesk and helpline for the government employees who are given training about the web portal and the UCC. The government wants to complete the basic training programme to ensure proper benefits of the UCC to the people.
