Uttarakhand to host four-day-long 10th World Ayurveda Congress & Arogya Expo in Dec

Dehradun: The four-day 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo (10th WACAE), beginning from December 12, will be organized in Uttarakhand.

Apart from the international delegates, it will be attended by all stakeholders of Ayush, representatives from Ayurvedic educational institutes, enterprises, state and central level organizations, experts from the medicinal plant areas and those who are associated with Ayush Health Care.

Registration for delegates is open till November 15

Till date, 4501 delegates have got registered for their participation in 10th WACAE to be organized in Uttarakhand. Registration for the delegates remains open till November 15.

Chief Secretary reviewed the preparation for organizing the 10th WACAE

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi on Tuesday held a meeting with the officials of different departments, including Ayush, Tourism, PWD, Culture, Transport, Higher Education, and Medical Education to make proper arrangements for organizing the 10th WACAE. She has directed the departments concerned to give final shape to their preparation for organizing 10th WACAE. She described the event as a golden opportunity for the state.

DM, Dehradun will be nodal officer for the event

She has directed the officers to nominate the district magistrate as the nodal officer for the event at the earliest possible. She underlined the need for making proper arrangements for the delegates who will come from foreign countries as well as different parts of the country.

Tasks for different departments

PWD has been tasked to ensure proper arrangements at the venue of the event. The department will ensure proper repair and maintenance of the roads leading to the venue of the event.

The culture department has been asked to hold different cultural programmes during the four-day event. Transport department will handle the responsibility of providing special buses for the transportation of delegates. Traffic management was also discussed at the meeting.

The World Ayurveda Congress aims to promote Ayurveda globally

The World Ayurveda Congress is a  forum established by the World Ayurveda Foundation. It aims to promote Ayurveda globally. The first World Ayurveda Congress was organized in Kochi in 2002 as an outreach programme.

In the 10th WACAE, representatives, institutions, organizations, NGOs, related to AYUSH and Ayurveda sector as well as various countries of Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America, Northeast Asia will participate. The theme of WACAE is “Digital Health”.
