The weather is expected to remain dry on January 3 and 4, but snowfall is anticipated in the higher regions of the state from January 5 to January 7. This change is likely to cause a drop in temperature, particularly in mountainous districts at altitudes above 2500 meters.

The weather department has forecasted dry conditions till 4 January across the state. Clear skies and occasional fog are expected in the capital, Dehradun, with maximum temperatures around 23°C. With warning of heavy fog in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, the Terai region continues to face challenges due to fog and a cold wave, causing many residents to stay indoors and rely on bonfires for warmth. On Thursday, sunny weather graced the mountains and tourist spots, allowing locals and tourists to enjoy the warm sunshine.
