The issue gained momentum

Following this, a case was registered against the accused under serious sections. The issue of posting an objectionable AI-generated video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media has gained momentum. BJP and Rudrasena Foundation workers staged a sit-in protest at Tyuni police station, demanding the arrest of the youth and the filing of a case under serious sections.
Following a complaint by the BJP Mandal President, the police registered a case against the accused and arrested him. Suleman, a resident of Mandrath in Tyuni, had posted an objectionable video of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on social media a few days ago. This led to massive protests. Rudrasena Foundation and BJP workers demanded the youth’s arrest and warned of violent protests if he was not detained.
On Sunday, the police summoned the youth to the police station for questioning. His smartphone was examined, revealing that he had posted five AI-generated videos from his Facebook ID—four targeting Pakistan and one deemed objectionable. The youth told the police that he had posted the video by mistake. Subsequently, the police restricted his online activities.
Attack on the country’s honor
On Monday, BJP and Rudrasena workers arrived at Tyuni police station, accusing the police of taking mild action against the youth. Rudrasena Foundation President Rakesh Tomar Uttarakhandi stated that sharing objectionable videos against the Prime Minister and the country amounts to direct treason and an attack on national honor. He added that such actions have hurt the sentiments of nationalist individuals and criticized the police for registering the case under mild sections.
He further alleged that the youth’s family has been living in Mandrath, Tyuni, through fraudulent means. The workers announced a hunger strike at the tehsil office starting Tuesday to demand the cancellation of forest Gujjars’ leases, claiming that they fraudulently registered tribal land in their name in 1983. BJP Mandal President Tyuni Neeraj Sharma stated that the entire area is angry over the incident.
CO BL Shah confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused for adversely affecting national unity, under sections of the IT Act. He added that the accused would be presented before the court on Tuesday.
