Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government will seek suggestions from the local people through Sub-divisional magistrates and Tehslidar from across the state before introducing a rigorous land law in the hill state.
The state government has already made it clear that the draft of the local land law will be prepared keeping in mind the requirements of local people as well as various aspects of the development.
The government wants to introduce a land law which must be in accordance with public sentiment
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting with the committee, constituted for drafting the local land laws, at in the assembly building at the Bhararisain, which is summer capital of the hill state. The committee accommodates former bureaucrats, and intellectuals as its members. CM Dhami said that the state government is very serious about the land laws which must be in accordance with the public sentiment.
The meeting was attended by the state’s chief secretary Radha Raturi, former chief secretaries- Indu Pandey and Subhash Kumar, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan and former DGP Anil Raturi.
CM Dhami focusses on employment generation in rural areas to put a check on migration
Meanwhile, the CM Dhami also chaired a meeting of the Migration Prevention Commission and discussed the ways to resolve this issue. He added the government has already taken several initiatives to put a check on the migration from the hills. The government is working on several projects, including employment generation in the rural areas. Besides, the government is also focussing on strengthening the infra-structures for proper development in the areas concerned.
Improvement in education and health services in hill areas is also required
The government’s focus is on the improvement of education and health services in all such areas which witness migration. The state government prefers to connect youths with self-employment through community development at the local level. In the last three years, the government has given special focus on self-employment, a release issued by the state’s public relations department claimed.
Implement of the recommendations of Migration Prevention Commission is the state government’s priority
The state government has asked all the departments concerned to work out a concrete plan to implement the recommendations of the Migration Prevention Commission. Pro-people schemes are being simplified to extend full benefits to the people who need it. The government has already given its priority to increase basic facilities in the villages.
