Dehradun: The state’s sports department has undertaken an exercise to prepare a comprehensive database of the volunteers through the 36th National Games 2025, which Uttarakhand hosts. The database of volunteers will be useful for future large-scale events in the state.
The successful hosting of big events like Investor Summit and meetings of G-20, the state has apparently underlined the need for trained volunteers to ensure proper management of such events in future.
Registration process continues for volunteers
The process for the registration to become volunteers in the National Games 2025 is in full swing currently. More than 30,000 persons, including women and girls, have been registered for this purpose. However, only 2000-2500 volunteers will be selected for the National Games 2025. The volunteers, who will be selected for the National Games 2025, will undergo proper training, besides certificates. They will be also eligible for getting travel and daily allowances. After the end of the registration process, the sports department will start selecting volunteers for the National Games 2025.
Selected volunteers to play major role during National Games
The volunteers, who will be selected, will play a major role in making all kinds of arrangements during the National Games 2025. During the process of registration for volunteers, the focus is on the availability of complete details of the persons concerned with the state government. Simultaneously, the state government will share necessary information with the persons who are registered. The persons concerned will be made aware about the roles which volunteers play during the events. The availability of the database of volunteers with the state government means the state’s preparation in advance for holding big events in future.
Sports ground being named after mountains, rivers and birds of the state
Different sports grounds, which are parts of the Maharana Pratap Sports College in Dehradun, will be named after mountains, rivers of birds of the state. For example, the new Multi-purpose Indoor stadium will be named as Bhagirathi while the old multi-purpose hall will be named after the state bird Monal. Boxing hall will be referred to as Kanchenjunga.
