Kedarnath: At least 6 people died after a chopper flying to Kedarnath crashed between Gaurikund and Sonprayag. NDTV reported that the Aviation Helicopter was flying from Guptkashi to Kedarnath Dham and had pilgrims onboard.

Technical problem, weather led to crash

ANI reported that 7 people were onboard the chopper which crashed in a forest. Reports claimed that technical problems and the inclement weather conditions led to the crash.

Initially, the authorities had reported a missing chopper. But locals who were out in the forest to collect fodder for their cattle reported a crashed chopper and this led to the discovery of the unfortunate incident.
