As per a report by MacRumors, the Live Activities widget for the US presidential elections is rolling out for US users. This will enable you to check out the latest updates without the need to regularly visit several news websites. Who is getting it and how to enable this US Elections Live Activities Widget on your iPhone?
US Elections 2024 Live Activities Widget On iPhone: Who Are Getting It?
This can be enabled via the Apple News app. However, you will need the iPhone 14 Pro or later model with iOS 16.1 and newer. iPad users running on iPadOS 17 and later will also be able to get this US Elections widget.
How to enable it?
- To ensure that you get all the latest updates, you will need to set it up in advance in simple steps:
- First of all, open the Apple News App on your iPhone or iPad.
- Now, the “Follow the 2024 election live” option which will be easily visible.
- Here, click on the “Follow Live” button when it pops up.
- Once enabled, the Live Activity widget will show on your Lock Screen. Not just that, it will also be visible in the Dynamic Island on iPhones like a notification if you are using your iPhones for some other purpose. It will show up real-time electoral count of the US states.
It must be noted that the US Elections 2024 Lock Screen Widget is just for US iPhone and iPad users.
How long will it be available? It is still unknown as to how long will Apple keep the Live Activity option for the US Election Updates. However, if you want to switch it off, then you just need to tap on the 2024 Election Live banned and the Live Activity schedule will be turned off.
