“This reflects her thinking. Whatever happened has been captured on camera and is in front of everyone. The Parliament is considered to a safe space. We always say that women are safe here. She added, “If they are feeling that someone is making them feel uncomfortable. If they feel that people are trying to intimidate them they are trying to explain the matter. No matter who they are, being a woman. Unfortunately, the MP’s reaction is called ‘nautanki’ We always say that women should stand up for women first.”

Speaking to reporters a day after a scuffle at Parliament that led to injury to two BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput and Konyak claimed uncomfortable because of Rahul Gandhi, Jaya Bachchan said, “Sarangi is acting. It’s all useless. We were all going inside the House, and the way they were standing; not allowing us to enter. Rajput, Sarangi, and the woman from Nagaland have performed better than I ever have in my career. They deserve all the acting awards.”

Allegations of Manipur MP Phangnon Konyak

Kanyok while speaking in the Upper House on Thursday alleged that the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi came in her “close proximity” and shouted at her during the protest outside Makar Dwar of the Parliament, which made her feel “extremely uncomfortable”.

“He misbehaved with me in a loud voice and his physical proximity to me was so close that I being a lady member felt extremely uncomfortable… I belong to the ST community and I am a lady member. LoP Shri Rahul Gandhi ji has deeply hurt my dignity and self-esteem. Therefore, Hon’ble Chairman sir, I seek your protection,” she wrote in her letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman.
