Expected to address the needs of various segments of society, especially youth and women

In the recent past, the people of Uttarakhand have shown strong support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), giving the party a significant victory in the 2022 assembly elections. The BJP also secured all five Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 general elections and won the municipal elections in January 2025. Given this political context, the upcoming budget is expected to address the needs of various segments of society, especially youth and women.

Finance Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal will present the budget

Finance Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal will present the budget for the financial year 2025-26. The previous budget, presented on 27 February 2024, amounted to Rs 89,230 crore, with a focus on security, infrastructure, green energy, social welfare, education, and sports. The Dhami government aims to deliver a budget that balances immediate welfare needs with long-term growth strategies, ensuring the state’s progress and prosperity.

All eyes will be on the key areas of infrastructure

As the budget is unveiled, all eyes will be on the key areas of infrastructure, employment generation, and support for farmers. The government is expected to make significant announcements that will resonate with the public and address their expectations. The success of the Dhami government’s initiatives will play a crucial role in shaping the political landscape as the state approaches the 2027 elections. Today’s budget presentation is eagerly anticipated, with citizens and political observers closely watching for new initiatives and policies that will shape Uttarakhand’s development in the coming years.
