Uddhav Thackeray challenges Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis to implement Hindi in state

Kolkata: On the foundation day of the Shiv Sena party, Uddhav Thackeray said that the BJP government in Maharashtra wants to create distance among the Hindus with the Hindi-Marathi row so that it indulges in corruption by deceiving people.

He said, “If Hindi is tried to be implemented strictly in Maharashtra, then we will get down on the road. The imposition will not be tolerated. I see Devendra Fadnavis. How does he implement Hindi in Maharashtra?”

Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena celebrated the party’s foundation day with great pomp at Mumbai’s prestigious Shanmukhanand Auditorium on Wednesday. Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, and other prominent leaders of the party including Sanjay Raut were present. On this occasion, Uddhav Thackeray launched a scathing attack on the BJP and the Shinde faction.

Thackeray challenged BJP and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He said, “I say today that we will wipe out every trace of BJP from Maharashtra. Just like in Nana Patekar’s movie Prahaar where he tells the goons that if you have guts, come and beat me, similarly, I say to the traitor leaders (Shinde and his group) that if you have guts, come and beat me. Show me your strength. I have the power of the people.”

Uddhav Thackeray’s sharp jibe on BJP

In his address, Uddhav Thackeray said, “Those who steal fathers in politics, and who themselves do not have children, comment on our family. Today they have to steal leaders for themselves. Are these the people teaching us Hindutva?”

Attacking Home Minister Amit Shah, he said, “The country needs a Home Minister, not Amit Shah who breaks families. The Minister is giving protection to goons. BJP leaders are weakening the strength of the Army.”

Uddhav Thackeray also directly attacked PM Modi and said, “A call came from Trump and you declared a ceasefire. You have tied the legs of the Indian Army. We don’t want such a Prime Minister and Home Minister.” He also criticized the BJP for ‘Operation Sindoor’ and said, “They gave a very good name ‘Operation Sindoor’, but they are not the ones who go door-to-door and distribute vermilion, they are the ones who spread corruption.”

Sharp reaction to BJP’s Hindi policy

Uddhav said that the BJP is trying to forcefully impose Hindi. “If you want to impose Hindi strictly, then go to Gujarat and do it, we will not let it happen in Maharashtra.” On speculations of alliance with Raj Thackeray, he said, “Whatever is in the mind of the people will happen. But the servants of the rich are meeting in the hotel so that Marathi Manus does not unite. Only the saffron flag of Shiv Sena will fly on BMC.”

Sarcastic attack by Sanjay Raut

Sanjay Raut took on the Shinde government to task and said, “Maharashtra government has now become an entertainment show. Saw a horror movie this morning – a minister was conducting Aghori puja”.

He also lashed out at the Shinde faction, “Those who claim the legacy of the 59-year-old Shiv Sena have forgotten that their party is only two years old. It was founded in Surat, but they are celebrating in Mumbai. They have even lost the right to put up Balasaheb Thackeray’s picture.”

Raut also said that BJP is spreading false propaganda of nationalism and Hindutva. He said, “Our soldiers break the back of Pakistan, but a call comes from America’s Trump and Modi declares a ceasefire. It is not the D-Company government, but the D government of those who fear that is running.”
