New Delhi: Ghajini was a massive blockbuster hit, be it the Hindi or Tamil version. With fans begging for a sequel for years on end, seems like the makers have finally listened to their prayers. Media reports suggest that the producers of Ghajini 2 have pitched the idea for the sequel and are in the process of moving into further stages of production.
A report by Pinkvilla suggests that producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena are to push for Ghajini 2. According to Pinkvilla’s source, Suriya expressed excitement towards the opportunity and revealed that he has gotten a differ for the sequel and that ‘things are in process’.

The report further stated that Ghajini 2 might happen and that the producers intend to simultaneously shoot the Hindi version with Aamir Khan and the Tamil version with Suriya. In addition to this, it has been reported that both actors are being cautious to label this sequel as a ‘remake’. The producers believe that if one movie is revealed prior to the other, the fans would be spoiled and thus diminish the excitement.
If reports are to be believed, both Aamir Khan and Suriya have shown interest in reprising their iconic role However, the movies are in the initial stages of production and even the scripts are yet to be finalised. At this speed, Ghajini 2 – Hindi and Tamil versions – are expected to be released by mid-2025. Rather than a cash grab, the makers of the film aim to create an authentic sequel that does the story and characters justice. However, it is still not revealed whether the original director, AR Murgadoss will be brought back for the sequel.
In other news, Suriya is set to star in the 2024 upcoming movie, Kanguva set to release in theatres on November 8, 2024. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is currently shooting for his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par.
