TV9 Network’s ‘Highway Heroes’ campaign reaches Chennai: Mental health and financial support discussed with truck drivers

New Delhi: TV9 Network in association with its partner Shriram Finance is running a unique campaign regarding the wealth and health security of truck drivers. The campaign has been named, ‘Highway Heroes This special campaign is currently being run in South India. After Bengaluru, this caravan of Highway Heroes Campaign reached Chennai.

‘Campaign is need of the hour’Vijayawada: Next stop of ‘Highway Heroes’ campaign

A 2-day Highway Heroes campaign (May 6 and 7) was organised at the CMDA Truck Terminal Complex in Madhavaram, Chennai. Like in several previous cities, truck drivers joined this program in Chennai and made it a success. Through this special initiative an effort was made to strengthen truck drivers mentally, physically and financially.

‘Campaign is need of the hour’

This special event of TV9 held in Chennai was inaugurated by Shriram Finance’s CSR Head S Balamurugan and Truck Terminal Head D Rosiya. Both of them appreciated this initiative of TV9 Network and Shriram Finance and said that this campaign is the need of the hour for the truck driver fraternity.

Mental Health Session: This is the second season of Highway Heroes campaign in India. This campaign is currently in South India. Here also efforts were made to make truck drivers aware. Trainers from the Yoga Institute taught meditation, pranayama and simple yoga during this period. With the help of these asanas drivers can feel peace and concentrate, after their long journeys. Their fatigue can also be controlled to an extent.

Physical Health session: Everyone should remain healthy. Truck drivers should also remain healthy. It was with this thought, that a session on health was held. For this, a team of Appolo Hospitals organized a completely free health checkup camp in which blood pressure, sugar, eye tests were done along with physical fitness tests of shoulders, back and knees.

Apart from this, in order to raise awareness about tuberculosis, doctors from Primal Health explained about the symptoms and preventive steps and also about the importance of getting timely treatment, so that drivers can avoid this dangerous disease.

Financial Health session: In the financial health session, experts from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) discussed easy ways to save money, create a proper budget for expenses, make the right investments as well as tell drivers about the steps to avoid cyber fraud.

Vijayawada: Next stop of ‘Highway Heroes’ campaign

The sessions are an effort to train truck drivers better and also improve their skills. After this training session, the truck driver got a 12th plus value certificate recognized by the Government of India. This can be helpful in driving license renewal as it is valid in more than 90 countries.

An attempt was made to instill confidence in truck drivers by organising the Highway Heroes Campaign in Chennai.Apart from this, information was given about better health and proper investment and expenditure of money. After Bengaluru and Chennai, the Highway Heroes Campaign will reach Andhra Pradesh. This special campaign will be run in Vijayawada on May 10-11, 2025.
