‘Tumko kuch nahi pata hai’: When Sakshi schooled MS Dhoni over stumping rule – WATCH

New Delhi: Former India captain MS Dhoni recently shared a hilarious story of how his wife Sakshi Dhoni once questioned his cricketing knowledge and tried to school him regarding a stumping rule. Dhoni revealed he was watching an ODI match with Sakshi when a batter was stumped off a wide delivery. While Dhoni insisted the batter was out, Sakshi was confident that the batter will not be dismissed.

Dhoni was speaking at an event where he narrated the hilarious story of Sakshi questioning his knowledge about the rules of the game. The former Indian cricket team captain tried to correct his wife telling her how a batter can be stumped on a wide ball but not on a no-ball. However, Sakshi dismissed his explanation, telling him – “Tumhe kuch nahi pata hai (You don’t know anything)”.

A video of Dhoni narrating the hilarious story was shared by his fan page on social media. “So, we were watching a game at home. It was an ODI game I guess. Sakshi was with me. Usually, I and Sakshi don’t talk about cricket. So, the batsman got stumped on a wide delivery,” Dhoni can be heard saying in the clip.

“On-field umpire took a review. My wife said that he was not out. And while she was saying it, the batsman had already started walking towards the pavilion,” Dhoni recalled.

“She said that he would call him back. You can never stump someone on a wide delivery. I corrected her that it can happen on a wide ball but not on a no ball. She said ‘tumhe kuch nahi pata hai (you don’t know anything). Just wait and watch him to come back’,” he added.

Dhoni’s story left the audience in the splits, leaving them wondering if anyone else apart from Sakshi would have dared to question one of the best wicket-keepers and India’s most successful captain about a stumping rule. The former India captain also went on to reveal how Sakshi was not ready to accept that the batter was out and thought something was wrong after the umpires didn’t reverse their call during the game.

“And while we were discussing all this, the batsman reached the boundary line and she was still like they will have to call him back. But finally, when the next batsman came, she said that there was something wrong,” Dhoni added.
