The induction ceremony took place during a parade at the BSF’s Subsidiary Training Centre (STC), where the constables took an oath to safeguard the nation’s borders.
  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday introduced a new initiative aimed at providing a co-working and learning space equipped with modern amenities, including internet access, in the Kolathur Assembly constituency. Named ‘Mudhalvar Padaipagam,’ the facility will operate under the Greater Chennai Corporation and is located on Jagannathan Street in Zone 6. According to a GCC official, this space is envisioned as a ‘peaceful hub’ where individuals can unleash their creativity and explore new business opportunities.
  • The Election Commission announced on Monday that a bypoll will be held for the Tirhut Graduates constituency of the Bihar Legislative Council, which became vacant following the election of senior JD(U) leader Devesh Chandra Thakur to the Lok Sabha. According to the EC notification, the nomination process will open on November 11 and close on November 18. Candidates have until November 28 to withdraw their nominations, and polling is set for December 5. The counting of votes will take place on December 9.

The hearing presided over by Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court, saw Khan seeking bail until the trial concludes. The judge instructed the FIA to provide its reply and subsequently adjourned the hearing indefinitely.
  • On Monday, Pakistan attributed the worsening smog in Lahore to winds coming from India, urging Indian authorities to address the issue seriously. The air quality index in Lahore, located in Punjab province, reached a record high over the weekend. This toxic grey smog has resulted in health problems for tens of thousands of residents, particularly affecting children and the elderly, since air quality began to decline last month.
