  • India’s recalled high commissioner, Sanjay Verma, described Canada’s behaviour as “the pits,” accusing the country of backstabbing and acting unprofessionally despite being a supposed friendly democracy. In an interview with PTI, Verma stated that a small group of Khalistan supporters has transformed the movement into a criminal enterprise involved in illegal activities like gun-running and human trafficking. He criticised Canadian authorities for ignoring these actions due to the political influence of these supporters, who serve as a key electoral base for local politicians.
  • President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled for a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh starting Friday, according to the Rashtrapati Bhavan. During her visit, she will attend the 2nd convocation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Raipur on Friday, as per an official statement released on Thursday.
