New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday (October 4) said that it does not want the Tirupati laddoo row to turn into political drama and ordered independent probe into the issue.

A bench comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Vishwanathan constituted the SIT which will have two officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), two officers from the state police of Andhrapradesh and one officer from CBI. The bench said that the investigation will happen under the supervision of the director of the CBI.

The bench also said that “We will not allow the Supreme Court to be used as a political battle ground in the matter.”
