ISKCON temple in Tirupati received a bomb threat on Sunday via email saying that ISIS terrorists would blow up the temple, which was later proven to be a hoax.

Temple officials filed a complaint with the police, who quickly jumped into action, deploying bomb squads and dog units to search the temple but did not find explosives or anything suspicious.

Circle Inspector Srinivasulu stated that the email was a hoax and efforts were on to identify the individual who sent the email. He further said that this was the fourth bomb hoax in just three days in Tirupati.

Last week, three hotels in the city received a similar threat and were later revealed to be false. The email was marked to Lemontree, Radisson and Dennisons hotels and was CCd to Regalia Hotels and Islamabad Police.

In an email to the hotels, the sender of the email referred to Jaffer Siddique, an alleged drug trafficker, who was arrested by Tamil nadu Narcotics Bureau and ED in February.

A case has been registered and an investigation is on.
