‘Thievery in your…’: BJP MLA alleges Sisodia stole fans, ACs from Patparganj office

New Delhi: BJP MLA from Patparganj Ravinder Singh Negi on Tuesday levelled accusations against former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, stating that he “stole” government properties such as air conditioners, TV sets, tables, and chairs from the MLA office that was handed over to him.

Negi, who won against AAP’s Avadh Ojha in Patparganj, alleged that Sisodia used the same office, allotted to him by the Public Works Department (PWD), for 12 years during his tenure as an AAP minister. Sisodia, who was arrested in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case, lost the elections after being shifted from Patparganj to Jangpura.

Sharing a video of the office, Negi wrote on X: “Former MLA @msisodia of Patparganj from Aam Aadmi Party had shown his true face even before the elections. Items like AC, TV, table, chair and fan were stolen from the Vidhansabha camp office.

“Their corruption has not crossed all limits yet. Now they have become experts in the politics of hiding their reality and stealing. We will protect the rights of the people and expose such corrupt people.”

Negi claimed that they left this office in a barren state. At least 250 chairs and several essential items were missing from the office, he said, adding that even doors and ceiling fans were missing. The BJP MLA added that despite being government property, the office was used by the AAP for poll-related meetings.

Negi said that this was a government office, yet it was used for electoral purposes… He added that it was Sisodia’s responsibility to leave everything behind as they were government properties, and they should have remained in the office after his tenure.

“Thievery is in your blood. Just like you indulged in corruption in the liquor scam, you stole from here too,” Negi told ANI.

AAP’s reaction

Reacting to the allegations, PWD JE Ved Prakash reportedly said that he did not give any material to the MLA office. A representative of Sisodia said that the AAP workers have not taken away any government material. The AAP workers took away the material that were theirs, he said, adding the 2 ACs that are being alleged to be missing were rented. The owner of the ACs has taken them back, the aide pointed out.
