‘Thank you, PM Modi’: Wife of Pahalgam attack victim Shubham Dwivedi after Operation Sindoor

New Delhi: “I want to thank PM Modi for taking revenge for my husband’s death,” declared the wife of Shubham Dwivedi, one of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, expressing gratitude for the swift Indian military action.

“My entire family had trust in him, and the way he replied (to Pakistan), he has kept our trust alive. This is the real tribute to my husband. Wherever my husband is, he will be at peace today,” She said while talikng to news agency ANI.

Operation Sindoor targeted multiple locations. In Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), the strikes focused on Muzaffarabad and Kotli. Within Pakistan itself, the Indian military targeted the headquarters and launch pads of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist organisations, specifically in Muridke and Bahawalpur.

Pakistan swiftly reacted to the strikes. Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), issued a statement claiming that India had launched air strikes on Bahwalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad, asserting that Pakistan’s air force was deployed and vowing retaliation at a time and place of Pakistan’s choosing. He characterised the Indian actions as “cowardly and shameful.” Pakistan’s Dawn News reported.

Adding to the tension, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed that India carried out strikes at approximately five locations within Pakistan, stating that Pakistan had the right to respond forcefully to this “act of war” and would do so. He rallied the nation to stand behind their armed forces.

“The cunning enemy has carried out cowardly attacks on five locations in Pakistan. Pakistan has every right to respond forcefully to this act of war imposed by India, and a forceful response is being given. The entire nation stands with the Pakistani armed forces, and the morale and spirit of the entire Pakistani nation are high. The Pakistani nation and the Pakistani armed forces know how to deal with the enemy. We will never allow the enemy to succeed in their nefarious goals,” Sharif posted on X in Urdu.

Amidst the escalating tensions, reactions from within India also surfaced. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi welcomed the surgical strikes, calling for a decisive response to Pakistan’s terror infrastructure to prevent future attacks like Pahalgam.

“I welcome the surgical strikes carried out by our defence forces on terror camps in Pakistan. The Pakistani deep state must be taught a tough lesson so that another Pahalgam never happens again. Pakistan’s terror infrastructure must be completely destroyed. Jai Hind!” Owaisi posted on ‘X’.
