Tamil Nadu train accident: List of trains cancelled or diverted due to collision

Chennai: The Indian Railways have cancelled as many as 18 trains following the collision between Mysuru Dibrugarh Darbabgah Express and Goods train in Tamil Nadu last evening. A total of 12 coaches were derailed and two coaches caught fire. There was no casualty reported in the incident, the officials said. However a number of passengers have been reported injured in the incident.

An express train that was moving at a speed of 75 kmph speed, rammed into stationary goods train as it entered a loopline instead of the main line. Rescue teams were rushed to the spot immediately after the incident.

* Train No.12711 Vijayawada – Dr MGR Chennai Central Pinakini Express scheduled to leave at 06.10 hrs on 12th October 2024 .
* Train No.12712 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Vijayawada Pinakini Express scheduled to leave at 14.05 hrs on 12th October 2024 .
* Train No.06745 Sulurupetta – Nellore MEMU Express scheduled to leave at 07.55 hrs on 12th October 2024 .
* Train No.06/46 Nellore – Sulurupetta MEMU Express scheduled to leave at 10.20 hrs on 12th October 2024 .
* Train No.16111 Tirupaty – Puducherry MEMU scheduled to leave at 04.00 hrs on 12th October 2024 .
* Train No.16112 Puducherry – Tirupaty MEMU scheduled to leave at 15.00 hrs on 12th October 2024 .
* Train No.16203 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Tirupaty Express scheduled to leave at 16.35 hrs on 12th October 2024.
* Train No.16204 Tirupaty – Dr MGR Chennai Central Express scheduled to leave at 06.25 hrs on 12th October 2024.
* Train No.16053 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Tirupaty Express scheduled to leave at 14.25 hrs on 12th October 2024.
* Train No.16054 Tirupaty – Dr MGR Chennai Central Express scheduled to leave at 10.10 hrs on 12th October 2024.
* Train No.16057 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Tirupaty Express scheduled to leave at 06.25 hrs on 12th October 2024.
* Train No.16058 Tirupaty – Dr MGR Chennai Central Express scheduled to leave at 18.05 hrs on 12th October 2024.

Trains which have been diverted

The trains which have been diverted include Delh- Dr MGR Chennai Central- Tamil Nadu Express (Train Number 12622) that left on October 10 at 21:05 hours has been diverted to run via Gudur, Renikunta and Arakkonam to Dr MGR Chennai Central; Lucknow-Dr MGR Chennai Chennai Central, which also left onthe same day at 16:20 hours has been diverted to run via Gudur, Renigunta and Arakkonam to Dr Chennai Central. The train will skip Nayadupetta and Sulurupetta stations. Apart from these trains Hyderabad-Tambram Charminar Express has also been diverted to run via Gudur, Renigunta and Arakkonam. The train ledft for its destination on October 11 at 18:00 hours. The train will skip same stations.
