Stampede at Mumbai’s Bandra terminus leaves nine injured, two critical

New Delhi: A stampede at Mumbai’s Bandra Terminus railway station left nine people injured on platform number 1 as people gathered to board a train bound for Gorakhpur on Sunday morning. The incident occurred when a large number of passengers surged forward, causing chaos that the police struggled to control them.

The injured were taken to Mumbai’s Bhabha Hospital for treatment. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the condition of two individuals remains critical.

The volume of passengers waiting to board was unusually high, leading to the incident, BMC said.
