New Delhi: The Shillong Teer is a lottery game organised in northeast India. The state where it is played is Meghalaya. The game is organised everyday and the results are declared in the evening. The game is governed by the rules under the Meghalaya Amusement and Betting Tax Act. It is organised by the Khasi Hills archery Association, which has 12 archery clubs under it. The game is played at the Shillong Polo Stadium.
All participants need to buy tickets to take part in the game. These tickets are available at around 5,000 counters, spread across the state. The players get arrows at the star of the game which they need to shoot at a pre-designated target. The Shillong Teer is a legal lottery game, just like the lotteries organised in Kerala, Nagaland and West bengal.
Rules governing Shillong Teer
The Shillong Teer lottery participants get 50 arrows at the beginning of the game. They need to shoot these arrows at a pre designated target. The winners of the game are decided on the basis of the number of arrows which hit exactly at the target. The person who shoots the most number of arrows at the target is declared the winner of the game. Apart from buying tickets from the ticket counters in the state, one can also buy them online.
