Several drones spotted in Gujarat’s Kutch, complete blackout implemented

New Delhi: Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi on May 10 took to his social media handle X(formerly Twitter) and wrote that several drones have been seen in Rajasthan’s Kutch district, and there is a complete blackout in the region. Sanghavi, who is also Gujarat’s Minister of Home, Industries, Transport, Youth and Sports, posted, “Several drones have been spotted in the Kutch district. A complete blackout will be implemented now. Please stay safe, Don’t panic.”

The development comes hours after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, with the United States acting as the mediator. Notably, Islamabad violated the truce on Saturday. As per officials, Pakistan resorted to shelling and targeted several areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Reportedly, the RS Pura, Arnia, and Samba sectors were attacked by Pakistan, resulting in panic among locals. A loud explosion was also reportedly heard in Srinagar.

Pakistan has attacked several parts of India with drones. One of the areas targeted was Pathankot, but the Indian Armed Forces once again rose to the occasion and destroyed those drones mid-air. Reportedly, Srinagar is experiencing blackouts, and the same has been reported from Rajasthan’s Barmer and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, and Punjab’s Ferozepur. In Barmer, there was an incoming air raid alert while drones were seen in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district. As many as 12 drones have been neutralised in Gujarat.

The Ministry of External Affairs has asked the Border Security Force to reply to the shelling by Pakistan with all their might. Meanwhile, Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of J&K, took to X and Pakistan for violating the ceasefire. He wrote, “This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up.”

Notably, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, during the press briefing on May 10, said that while both India and Pakistan agreed to the ceasefire, it was Pakistan’s DGMO who had initiated a call to his Indian counterpart and set in motion the process of ceasefire. Also, US President Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth and wrote about the ceasefire even before Misri’s briefing.
